Southend on Sea council employees invited to the Civic Centre, Southend on Sea, Essex, UK. The first day of Mental Health Awareness Week.
The head of the Council congratulated the attendees and kicked it off on time. There were approx. 20 stalls. From the Samaritans, Stop Smoking, Juice by cycle, Learn how to Cycle, Mind, Shed activity room, a Chef with eating healthily, Therapy for You, Simply Health, Asda and others. We offered Heartfulness Relaxation and Meditation practical sessions and information, contact details to the local trainers etc.
I held three separate practical sessions – with a ten minute talk preceding them – 9 people participated, while 20+ had intentions to do so, but failed to attend due to the rush towards the end of the day. Lunch was provided and the organizers followed up with the intention to set up weekly sessions with a free provision of facilities – to be arranged.
